Simpson Thacher´s Todd Crider and Andrés Hoyos-Ramírez of Colombian firm Gómez-Pinzón Zuleta Abogados will chair the event.
Keynote speeches from Allen and Ambrose will consider whether Latin America can recover its growth curve and if Brazil´s current economic downturn contains the seeds of future growth. Prospects in Mexico and Argentina will also be laid out, as well as other countries in the region that welcome private equity, and those that do not.
A panel of bankers moderated by Crider and featuring Enrique Pani of Advent International will discuss deal flow and headwinds in Latin America, including how to cope with currency devaluation, commodity prices falling and slowing growth in China, and new opportunities to look forward to in 2017.
Other panels will debate how firms can structure successful private equity deals in distressed environments; the future of leveraged buyouts in Latin America; fundraising in the region; the effect of corruption scandals on target companies; and investors´ experiences in countries undergoing regime changes or uncertain political times, such as Argentina and Venezuela.
Speakers are confirmed from Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, Shearman & Sterling LLP, Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, and Clifford Chance LLP, as well as from Argentina´s Estudio Beccar Varela and Cabanellas Etchebarne Kelly; Brazil´s Vieira Rezende Advogados, TozziniFreire Advogados, BMA - Barbosa, Müssnich, Aragão, Machado, Meyer, Sendacz e Opice Advogados and Pinheiro Neto Advogados; the Peruvian office of Garrigues; Mexico´s Ritch, Mueller, Heather y Nicolau, SC; and Chile´s Carey.
