Brazil’s Machado Meyer Advogados has helped local hospital group DASA acquire counterpart Grupo Leforte for 1.7 billion reais (US$350 million).
Madrona Advogados advised Grupo Leforte for the deal, which was signed on 3 December.
The transaction is subject to approval from antitrust watchdog CADE.
Once complete, DASA will buy the target through its wholly owned subsidiary Impar Serviços Hospitalares. The acquisition will add three hospitals and five clinics to DASA’s network, turning the São Paulo-based company into Brazil’s second-largest independent hospital network, after Rede D'Or Sao Luiz.
The three Leforte hospitals that will be transferred to DASA are São Paulo-based Leforte Liberdade, Leforte Morumbi and Hospital e Maternidade Dr. Christóvão da Gama.
