Jones Day in New York and São Paulo and Stocche Forbes Advogados in São Paulo have helped French energy conglomerate Engie obtain finance worth US$8.7 billion to conclude its acquisition of Brazil’s largest gas pipeline company TAG after a critical Supreme Court ruling.

White & Case LLP in New York, Paris and São Paulo, and Lobo de Rizzo Advogados in São Paulo advised the lenders. Offshore collateral agent MUFG and onshore collateral agent TMF hired Holland & Knight LLP in New York. TMF also relied on Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr e Quiroga Advogados.
Engie and Canadian pension fund CDPQ control Aliança Transportadora de Gás Participações, the consortium which won the bid to acquire 90% of TAG from Petrobras in April.
