Sendacz e Opice Advogados is advising UK drinks group Diageo in the
acquisition of Ypióca Agroindustrial de Bebidas, the leading premium producer
of Brazil’s national spirit, cachaça.
The 900 million reais (US$445 million) deal was announced on 28 May and will
see Diageo, operating through Brazilian affiliate Cinter International Brands
Indústria e Comércio, acquire a 100 per cent stake in Ypióca. MCFCW Advogados e Consultores, formed of
Martins, Chamon e Franco Advogados e Consultores and Costa e Waisberg Sociedade
de Advogados, is providing counsel to Ypióca.
