Machado, Meyer, Sendacz e Opice Advogados has helped Brazilian real estate group BR Properties close a 201 million reais (US$114 million) property acquisition in the state São Paulo.
The seller Anhanguera do Brasil Projetos, part of the Hines group, took legal advice from Almeida Bugelli e Valença Advogados in the deal which closed on 30 December.
BR Properties made the acquisition through its subsidiary BRPR XVI Empreendimentos e Participações, which bought two properties in the Louveira area, which it will use to make its entry into the rental sector.
BR Properties was formed in 2007 by a group of eight private investment companies, led by Brazilian GP Investments, to buy up and manage commercial retail properties.
Almeida Bugelli is a seven-lawyer firm founded in 2002, which works predominantly on transactions in the corporate, capital markets and real estate sectors.
