Two of Brazils biggest gangs have been classified as so-called foreign terrorist organisations by the US government. Speaking to Latin Lawyer`s sister publication Global Investigations Review, local lawyers said their corporate clients across most industry sectors have a long way to go to be able to address the massive legal risks stemming from the US designations, which went live on 5 June. Improvements in compliance are necessary, and tough de-risking decisions await, they said.
